The Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has donated shs10 million  and 400 iron sheets to the Gulu Archdiocese for the repair of Pope John Paul Primary school in Puranga, in Pader district.

The school together with the neighboring Puranga All Saints Catholic had been destroyed by strong winds.

"The government, under OPM, is stepping in  and here is shs10 million  cash for the repair of the roofs,"  Nabanjja announced while attending the 56th Anniversary of the Puranga All Saints church.

Nabbanja who was in Pader at the invite of the Aruu South Member of Parliament Christopher Komakech, also directed the minister of state for Northern Uganda Dr. Kenneth Omona to personally deliver the 400 iron sheets to the church and school.

"This is government's commitment to the community and its efforts to restore vital infrastructure of the church and the school" she said amidst a jubilating crowd.

The anniversary prayers were led by Archbishop Emeritus John Baptist Odama, who also wedded seven couples.

"I will tell the President (Yoweri Museveni) that his brother (Odama) is retiring with an old car," the Prime Minister further announced as she congratulated Odama for dedicated service and being at the forefront to negotiate with the LRA rebels for the return of peace to Northern Uganda.

However, Nabbanja also urged the church leaders to encourage the public to embrace government programs like the Parish Development Model and Emyooga.

"These initiatives aim to alleviate poverty in Acholi sub-region and across Uganda."
